Four local emerging children’s authors will share their process in writing books and how they were published

Runaway Mittens by Isla Shaykewich
Isla Shaykewich was just 7 years old when she wrote and illustrated Runaway Mittens. She’s all of 8 now, and will present this charming picture book.

Homecoming, Bad Business by Diane Dakers
An established biographer and journalist, Diane branches out into teen fiction with her first two works of fiction, Homecoming and Bad Business. Look for her upcoming title, Strings Attached in spring 2017. Diane is now working on her first full length YA novel.
Brother XII’s Treasure by Amanda Spottiswoode
The year is 1936, and seven children are sprung from their boarding schools and set sail along the coast of BC for an adventure like no other. They discover the true story of Brother XII, a shadowy figure who is rumored to have buried treasure on one of the islands. Look for the sequel The Silver Lining.
