Time: 2:00-3:00 pm, plan to have an early supper around 4:00 pm

What will be provided:
Hamburgers (including veggie), buns, potato salad, drinks

What to bring:
A potluck item such as: salad, other main dish, appetizer, chips, dessert, a folding deck chair if you have one (we have 8 + 6 indoor chairs)

Meet a new author and a new illustrator in the Canadian Children’s Literature scene! Sara Cassidy is the author of Windfall and Slick, two environmental mysteries in the Orca Current series. Eva Campbell, painter, visual artist, and educator, is the illustrator of The Matatu, a picture book by Eric Walters.

Celebrate Canadian Children's Book Week with touring storyteller Bernice Gei-Ying Hune! Her traditional Chinese tales are popular with children and adults. Bernice tells spellbinding stories by Canadian author Paul Yee, as well as stories created fron her own imagination. Sponsored by Canada Council for the Arts.

Karen Rivers, who writes for young adults, will tell us how she found her "dream job", as a writer. Karen keeps her audience entertained with her quirky and candid style of speaking. Her most recent novels are What is Real, the XYZ Trilogy, and Barely Hanging On.

Dayle Sutherland will present Orca Books new Spring titles.
