Hello everyone! The next meeting of the Victoria Children's Literature Roundtable will take place on Monday, November 8, 2010 at 7:30pm at the Nellie McClung Branch of the Greater Victoria Public Library, (Cedar Hill & McKenzie).

Doors Open at 7:00 pm, come early and browse the Cadboro Bay Books table. 

Everyone welcome! Cost: $5.00 at the door, Students $4.00, $25.00/year

Guest Speakers:  Kim LaFave and Gary Kent

Meet award-winning children's illustrator Kim LaFave and former fisherman Gary Kent as they talk about their new book, Fishing with Gubby. Based on true events and partly told in graphic novel style, the story follows Gubby as he journeys up BC’s west coast, and recounts his adventures during a summer of commercial salmon fishing.

The next meeting of the Victoria Children's Literature Roundtable will take place on Monday, October 18th at 7:30pm at the Nellie McClung Branch of the Greater Victoria Public Library (McKenzie and Cedar Hill).

Our speaker will be Tara Saracuse.

Tara Saracuse is a graduate of the Creative Writing program at the University of Victoria. Island Kids, the third book in the Courageous Kids series, is Tara’s first book—and she hopes it is the first of many. Tara lives on a small hobby farm in North Saanich with her two lovely cats and her partner, Steve.

We're Back! Next Meeting September 20, 2010

After a summer hiatus, the Victoria Children's Roundtable is back in action. Our next meeting takes place on Monday, September 20, 2010 at 7:30pm at Nellie McClung Library, 3950 Cedar Hill Rd. (near McKenzie) in the program room. Access is from the parking lot off Garnet St.

Our first presenter of the season is Frank B. Edwards.

Frank B. Edwards is co-founder of Bungalo Books and well-known author of 40 books, such as Mortimer Mooner Stopped taking a Bath.
He will talk about his latest books, including a biography of Robert Munsch, as well as the writing process.
